OK, that long-winded explanation aside (see, I am a scientist), I’ve now created a page that will provide links to media in which I’ve appeared. I often get questions about where and when these stories appear, so this page will answer those questions. I can't go back in time too far, since many stories change URLs when archived, so the links go dead. It's also possible that some of the links I provide will go dead. If so let me know and I will try to find the new URL where the article is stored. I’m also using this page to provide links to videos and articles that explain some of the science I am doing. I’ve been fortunate to work with some videographers and others that are as interested in conservation as me. So this is a way to provide them some viewers as well. Links will be updated as new items are available, which is on a completely unpredictable basis, and are listed in no particular order. If you know of coverage that I don't include here, please let me know. Videos As of August 7, 2010, new videos are online: Rich Volpe was kind enough to share some dawn patrol tarpon video from a recent morning he accompanied me on the water. He got footage of a couple other fish that he intends to use in an upcoming documentary. Rich also put together some video of recent tarpon satellite tagging in Charlotte Harbor, plus part of my presentation on Boca Grande as to why we need to satellite tag tarpon. I did an interview with World Fishing Network for their News program during the last week of July , and talked about the potential impacts of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill on tarpon. Brief clips from the fishing show Familiar Waters, which airs on the Outdoor Channel. I was at Andros South lodge in 2009 when these guys were filming, and they incorporated BTT bonefish research into the program. My short interview about BTT at Fly Fishing Retailer show 2009. Thanks to the guys at Fish Shtick. The Pirates of the Flats trailer. I was there for filming and the conservation message is right on target. Plus, it supports Bonefish & Tarpon Trust. How to tag a tarpon, also available in the Education section of Bonefish & Tarpon Trust's web site. Thanks to Rich Volpe. How to Tag a Bonefish. Also available from the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust Education section. How to Handle a Bonefish for Catch and Release. Also available from the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust Education section. This segment is from the upcoming ESPN2 series Pirates of the Flats. How to Fin Clip a Bonefish. Also available from the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust Education section. Outtakes from filming of Pirates of the Flats. Funny that my outtake is catching a fish. Hmmm. This is from a review/preview of the series in Garden & Gun magazine. Print and Web Media An interview with me on the BonefishOnTheBrain blog Thanks to the guys at Fish Schtick, an interview with me is now posted as a podcast. Coverage of the Tribal Bonefish: A short piece about Lefty Kreh's and my involvement in Pirates of the Flats. A recent editorial column from Tom Sadler in the News Virginian. Sportfishing Magazine – A story on tarpon fishing in the Charlotte Harbor area. The part of interest is the quotes from me on tarpon fishing etiquette. This isn’t a media piece covering me, but I do like that Chris took the time to contact me about tarpon fishing etiquette for the story. A couple years ago I helped Conway Bowman and crew shoot an episode for the series Sportfishing Magazine – A feature on my first book Fisherman’s Coast from 2004. A feature on me in American Angler magazine, September/October 2009. Thanks to Editor Steve Walburn and writer Phil Monohan for the idea and great piece. An interview on A Bad Backcast fly fishing blog from December 2009. A recent article in ThisIsFly (December 2009).
