A tarpon goes airborn in the morning.
I took this shot with my rod in my left hand and camera in my right.

Welcome to my web site, dedicated to saltwater fly fishing, saltwater flies, information about saltwater gamefish, marine conservation, and some of my work as a marine fish ecologist.

This site is all about content. What you won't find here is a lot of flashiness. I prefer to put my time into content. If I spent my time on flashy extras, there would be less time to add good content. By and large, once on the site, a page and its content will stay, and will lilely be updated in time. New content is frequently added, keep tabs on the blog for newest additions. I am certain that you will not be able to read the entire site in one sitting.

The more we understand about the habitats that gamefish live in, the better anglers we can become. Knowing something about a fish’s life cycle and behavior patterns, for example, will give you a better idea of when and where you’re most likely to find fish. After all, on any given day, 80% or more of the water doesn’t hold any gamefish. The challenge is to figure out which is the fishiest 20%, and that's what the Fisherman's Coast approach is all about.

So please browse the site, let me know what you think, and come back to visit – the site is deep with information, and will become moreso with time. Hopefully, each time you browse you’ll find something new.
